Eight Individuals Injured in Bus Incident; Sokoto State Police Mobilizes Tactical Response Teams

On Wednesday at approximately 3:00 PM, a significant incident transpired in Tambagarka Village, situated within the Gwadabawa Local Government Area near the border with the Niger Republic.

A commercial bus, bearing the registration number GWD 10 LG, was involved in a crash while being pursued by a Border Patrol Team. The pursuit was initiated when the driver of the vehicle failed to comply with a stop signal.

The failure to yield resulted in the bus overturning, leading to serious injuries to eight passengers. In the aftermath of the incident, an irate throng assaulted the Border Patrol Team’s post, causing considerable damage to their patrol vehicle and associated facilities. In light of the escalating unrest, the officers were compelled to vacate the area to ensure their safety.

In response to this situation, security personnel promptly facilitated the transportation of the injured individuals to a medical facility for treatment. Additionally, efforts were made to recover the damaged police vehicle. To restore order and enhance security in the region, the Sokoto State Police Command has mobilized tactical response teams to conduct thorough patrols in the affected area.
