Oklahoma Plans to Build the Tallest Skyscraper in the U.S. β€” People

The Oklahoma City Council has approved an application to build the Legends Tower with no height restrictions.
The company behind the construction plans for the skyscraper to be 1,907 feet tall. This height was chosen to commemorate the year 1907 when Oklahoma officially became the 46th state of the United States. Legends Tower could become the fifth tallest building in the world.
Currently, the tallest building in the United States is One World Trade Center in New York City, which opened in 2014 and stands at 1,776 feet, symbolizing the year the Declaration of Independence was signed.
The tallest building in the world is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, standing at 2,716.5 feet tall.
