There have been reports of an alleged incident involving the Principal of Command International Academy, Gambari, Ogbomosho and a corps member serving under the Oyo State Government. The incident reportedly occurred when the corps member arrived at the school later than expected.
According to an eyewitness, who requested anonymity, the corps member was in the school vicinity before the arrival of some staff members, including the Principal, but had briefly returned to her lodge to retrieve her phone. The eyewitness further stated that the Principal approached the corps members while expressing frustration, which resulted in public embarrassment in front of students gathered on the assembly ground. It has been reported that the Principal physically assaulted the corps member, causing visible marks and significant distress at the time this information was obtained.
Another source, also wishing to remain anonymous, indicated that the Principal exhibited a sense of impunity regarding the situation, stating that he does not tolerate disrespect.
In light of these events, Concerned Nigeria and the general public are calling for justice on behalf of the affected corps member who experienced public humiliation and mistreatment by the Principal.
There are demands for a public apology from the Principal, alongside appeals to the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, the Inspector General of Police, and the Oyo State Teaching Service to take decisive action regarding this matter.
Additionally, the concerned youth of Nigeria are urging the Director General of NYSC to ensure the safety of corps members assigned to various towns and villages, emphasizing the necessity for adequate oversight and protection.
