The Osun State Christian Council of Nigeria, under the leadership of Rt. Rev. James Oluwatoyin Bamidele and Evangelist Oladele Afolayan, Youth Wing Coordinator, has urged citizens, especially the youths, to exercise caution regarding upcoming protests. Instead, they advocate for constructive dialogue with the government and private sector as a more effective approach.
In a statement issued from Osogbo, the state capital, the Osun chairman emphasized that protests alone cannot resolve the region’s challenges. They called on the federal government to prioritize critical infrastructure development, including the refurbishment of refineries, reopening of borders, and addressing ongoing security concerns. The council advised citizens to resist negative influences, concentrate on their education, and acquire relevant skills, particularly in the digital sector.
They also commended President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, the Southwest Governors Forum, and the Federal Executive Council for their efforts in tackling national challenges and fostering development and peace in the region.
